Everybody's Livin' For The Weekend

Long, fun filled weekends are the best.

I listened to a smashing Simon and Garfunkel cover band at the AT&T Patio Sessions in downtown with handsome men

And it was warm enough for bare legs and lace

I attended both the soft and grand opening of the new Sugar Derby vintage trailer (and somehow lost all my photos!)

I celebrated Record Store Day with friends

How Ya Livin', Twiggie Smalls?

I recently got a second dog. I had wanted one for a while, but Nathan wasn't so sure. I knew I needed to get a dog smaller than my first love, who is 12 pounds and a big ol scardy baby. I also knew I wanted to rescue again. On a whim one Tuesday I went to Avenue Barket to see the owner, Cindy, who has been known to help place a sweet baby or two. I told her I was looking to rescue again and the VERY NEXT DAY, she came over and told me she had a friend who had found a little 6 pound chihuahua on the streets, scared and malnourished and was I interested in meeting him? OF COURSE I WAS. I went over and saw him and it was love at first sight. He had a cut on his leg and a scar on his nose, and his little tail bones were jutting right out of his tiny underfed body. I took him straight to the vet, had him chipped and checked out and took him home to love him all better. His name is Twiggie Smalls, but he just goes by Smalls.

In the little Christmas fleece he was wrapped in when I took him home...

He was so tired he was falling alseep standing up. Life on the streets is so hard for a little one!

Untitled
With P. Bitty. They are not each others biggest fans, but they get along better and better every day.

Untitled
Smalls is very, very cuddly!

Untitled

He has settled in and is so happy to have a family. He sleeps all the time and when he's not sleeping he moves so fast it just comes out a blur on camera. He can jump up on furniture from halfway across the room now, he's gotten so strong!

Untitled

He's here to stay.

Run The World Girls

When Stevie and Jane and I get together we take approximately a billionty pictures of ourselves. We can't help it.

On Tuesday night we all went to see Jane's new window at the Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas.

Untitled

The drawings are so sweet and the window looks just perfect. There was also a Q&A with Jane and Judy and both ladies were, of course, flawless...

Untitled

Stevie and I entertained ourselves with shameless selfies in the mirrors while Jane was busy networking.

Untitled

Untitled

We may have made a slight detour when coming back from the ladies room...

Untitled

This shot is just breathtaking, too much pretty...the girl, the dress, the decor!

Untitled

What can I say? Girls will be girls!

Leather shorts, Buffalo Exchange
Vintage wedges, Buffalo Exchange

The Default Look

Everyone should have a default look. That style you can go to on those days when you just can't seem to put an outfit together to save your life. My default look as of late is vintage band tee + useless flowy kimono type topper + super slim fit jeans + all the jewelry I can fit on my body. It never fails to make me feel myself again.

Untitled

This look features a vintage Siouxsie tee, a Forever XXI kimono, Levis 535s and the Alexander Wang bag Stevie got me for my birthday from V.O.D. I wore this on a day I was feeling particularly down and just getting dressed made me feel a bit more "me".

What Did Science Ever Do For Me?

My friend Stevie says I should blog. Maybe just this once...

I was given a gorgeous pair of vintage Donald J. Pliner shoes from a sweet friend recently, and this outfit was basically just an excuse to wear them...

Untitled

Untitled

I mean...I can't even. They are so gorgeous. And comfortable! They are a 7 and a half, but since they are a vintage fit, they fit my size 6 feet beautifully.

Untitled

I just want to wear them all the time. But I promise not to.
