None of the pictures I have saved seem all that inspiring or interesting today. It happens. I actually really love wearing this dress but have come to accept that while it flows and looks very pretty in real life it makes me look a wee bit like I'm wearing a tent in pictures.
It is one of the first things I bought after I started at Buffalo. It was all of like 10 bucks. And it is a total "teacher dress".
But not math teacher. More like art teacher. Or pottery even. That teacher who seems like she might actually be a bit cool, but still, she's your teacher. You know the one.
The store has started opening an hour earlier and while it shouldn't be a big deal, it has been a huge adjustment for me personally. Slowly it is becoming more normal, but I haven't quite made it up early enough to get dressed and take photos so far. I only just realized it's actually light enough that I can take them when I get home again, so hopefully I'll be back and more inspired soon.

i am totally feeling pottery teacher! in a good, quirky well-dressed way...not a frumpy one. love it paired with cowboy boots!
I love the art teacher dress! I think should have your hair down and some birkenstocks with it to really hammer the point home, though. Maybe a turquoise necklace....
Oh hush, you are rocking that dress. And I ADORE the topknot!
Very cute dress - not tent-like at all. Also, super with the boots!
I think you look really cool and that you are being way too hard on yourself...it has a really great aesthetic to the whole style!!
This dress is so far from looking like a tent. The slit in the front, plus the boots and jewelry, keep it from looking frumpy. I love it!
Great dress! Try belting it next time so you feel less tent-like!
Oooh, you look so cute with your hair in a bun!
That dress is fabulous! The pefect blank canvas for a wide, bright colored belt or a bright cardigan. It looks wonderful on you just by itself too though! I love it!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
Isn't it crazy how one hour can totally throw you off?? I am STILL adjusting to the hours for my new job and I've been here almost three months! It's crazy.
LOVE this - it totally is something that my art teacher would wear :) Except I don't think they would have ever thought to pair it with biker boots :)
Ha, I could totally see a pottery teacher wearing it! But the way you wear it, it's cool! Love your hair today too!
sweetheart, there is NOTHING tent-like about this dress. it is sheer amazing with a huge dollop of awesomesauce.
your blog now has got me wanting:
(1) long hair so i can sport a topknot.
(2) to get my glasses lenses swapped out so i can wear them outdoors.
(3) a new pair of docs. i think i am finally old enough to look stylish in them again!
Dig the dress but would love it even more short. :)
Ooh, an hour earlier? Is that just for the summer? :( UGH. I won't mind if you want to sleep in every day when I'm there! WOOO, vacation soon!!
I like that dress a lot! The shape is really cute and the pattern makes it really interesting. So I wouldn't have ever thought "teacher dress".
XO!
Cute Dress girl. It would be great for the beach too if you tied it up with a knot! I dig your style mucho!

Fabulous dress. There is nothing Tent-like about it. It looks very breezy and chic. If only I had a teacher who dressed that cool. I always got the teachers who wore square vests and black socks with brown "sporty" sandals.
This is SO EFFING rad. I am kind of obsessed with that dress.
The fiancé was watching me read blogs and said: "I would have paid more attention in school if my teacher had a slit that high!!" Silly boys. It looks so comfortably wonderful
you nailed it with the pottery teacher!
congrats on the sponsor! miss you, friend!
Amazing dress :)

i totally know the one. his name was mr. murphy, the ceramics teacher. he didn't wear any dresses (thankfully?), but i think every kid in school secretly wanted to just hang out with him. but. y'know. still a teacher, so that'd be weird.
annnd who'd've thought a girl could rock a teacher dress? you totally can. and did. and will again. nice, erin.
