Loves Me Not

I love this dress, it’s from Loves Me Not at Etsy. She’s such a doll. I can’t recommend her enough.

Feb 26

When I bought it, it was a romper, but it was too short in “the rise” as my mom would say, so rather than part with it, I took it to the tailor and had it made into a dress. I love it. But I can’t really breathe in it. Ha!~ It’s very fitted, plus I always cinch it with a belt. BUT I never feel so skinny as when I wear this dress.

Also, I’m serious. I love these shoes. I know I already said that but they are so perfect. Perfect color, perfect fit, perfect wedge, perfect design. LOVE.

Feb 26

The only thing that made the outfit not perfect was the fact that I managed to leave the house without so much as a hoop earring. NO JEWELRY but the rings I never take off. I felt NAKED.

I got this bag for my birthday. It was drastically on sale. It’s Steven by Steve Madden. The leather is the nicest leather I’ve ever seen. Nicer than the leather on my Gucci bags. Buttery soft, yet really strong. It’s also a really nice tribute to the Gucci Hysteria, which as you know, I adore. At a MUCH MUCH MUCH lower price point. I just love it. It looks like a really well preserved vintage bag, and it's a great size. I can get a full size hard back novel in there!

New Dress

Kelly got me a gift certificate to Target for my b-day. And I got this dress. So Kelly got me this dress.

Feb 24

THANK YOU Kelly. I LOVE it. I felt so FUN in this dress. And so PRETTY. I love love love a new dress. I even left it on when we met friends for dinner and normally I love a chance to change into a second outfit.

Feb 24

Look at the adorable racer back!

Feb 24

These are still basically my all time favorite earrings.

Feb 24

I didn’t wear them for a while because I felt like I really needed to wear my own stuff, to advertise by example. But I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job getting my name out there now and I am excited to wear some of the stuff my fellow jewelry artists have made. These are by Chain Chain Chained over at Etsy, and she has great customer service. I also have matching necklace (but I would never wear them together!)

Black and Brown

I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this before but I love black and brown together. Specifically an all or mostly black ensemble with brown shoes/bag/belt.

Naturally I loved this outfit.

Feb 23

The dress is one from mark that is not on the website yet, I was able to get it early as a rep. It’s super comfortable, so soft and I felt really good in it. PLUS, it has a low back, all the better to showcase the tassel I put on the necklace I made myself a while back!

Feb 23

(I am not going to lie, I am uncomfortable with how large my behind looks in that picture, but am secure in the knowledge that it is not, in fact, a large behind)

Feb 23

I love my new Docs. I have officially ruined my feet after years and years of daily high heels. I can no longer wear them as often as I once did, and as a result I had to get something that I felt stylish in, and were comfortable for more everyday wear. These fit the bill. (Even though one of my BFFs hates them, I Lu U Autumn!~) I love the wedge, because it lets me FEEL like I’m wearing heels, and I love the details of the leatherwork on the heel.

Birthday

I had to work on my birthday (you get a personal day at my office, but my sister is due to give birth to her first girl soon, so I wanted to save my birthday day for that, and my boss agreed) so I wanted to wear something that would be really happy and bright.

Enter the re-worked vintage dress I got back in November in Austin at the Fun, Fun, Fun Fest.

Feb 19

I promise I’ll get a better picture of this bag soon, it’s such an adorable design from Hoakon Helga over at Etsy

Feb 19

For now, I hope she doesn’t mind, here is a pic from the shop:
Monarda

Each bag in the shop is made from recycled leather, and all the designs are so cute and original.

And a couple blurry pics of me and the world’s cutest dog.

Casual Boots.

Sorry about the small selection as well as the indoor pics today. I didn’t get home until 9:30 or so. I had a wonderful night with my church community, eating homemade Indian food and talking.

Feb 18

I got these boots at GAP kids last fall. Nathan doesn’t like them But I love them. They are super comfortable, and I almost always have at least one girl stop me and ask where I got them. Today it was two SMU students at Target. They are maybe a little more casual than the dress calls for. And maybe a little more beat up than is proper. But I like them this way.

The dress is vintage, from one of my favorite etsy sellers, Loves Me Not. She has consistently nice dresses in my size, and at very reasonable prices. I love vintage, and of course I’d rather buy it myself from the thrift store, but if I must buy from a middle man, Loves Me Not is a great one. She even wraps my items in tissue paper and string, which makes each purchase feel like an event.

Right before I sat down to type this, I hitched up my tights. Nathan laughed, but they are so long! They sit right under my bra! Lara over at Fashionate actually gave them to me, and Lara is a few inches shorter than me, so they must have been a full body suit on her. I love the color though, and the pattern.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I am working again. Which means I am getting dressed. Yay. This is my second week and mostly I am trying to just get used to the grind again. Putting together an outfit and taking pictures has just been too much extra.

Until today.

Which is cool, because I really loved this outfit.

Feb 16

That leather jacket is one that Nathan picked up for me at a thrift store this winter. It’s not the most fashionable jacket I own, but it is the most sensible. It has long enough sleeves to keep my arms warm, and it’s long enough to cover my behind. I’ve really gotten a lot of use out of it.

Feb 16

That little open cardigan thing was a Valentines gift from Nathan. I had tried it on at Urban Outfitters a week earlier, but it was crazy expensive for something so totally worthless. Don’t get me wrong, I adore it. It looks awesome. But it serves zero function, and with times as tight as they are, I could not justify something like that. But Nathan remembered, and went back and got it. I’ve already worn it 3 times!~ It’s super versatile.

Look! Giant pockets!

Anyway. I’m glad to be back, and excited about getting caught up on your blogs as well.
