It’s Up To You...

We have a short day today at work, and have been allowed to wear casual clothing this week. So I thought I’d take advantage of it.

November 25

Nathan got me that sweatshirt at a thrift store and I am pretty sure that it is a child’s size, but I love the shrunken fit. It is much more flattering than an oversized sweatshirt and I think it classes it up just a bit.

It was actually pretty cold today, and to be honest, I should have worn those fabulous gloves!

These are the Doc Martins I was talking about last week, having so much trouble breaking in. I've had them for at least a year. I’ve taken some of your advice and I added heel pads to the back of the shoes. That took care of the weird seaming issues that rubbed my heel raw. I’m also wearing thick, black athletic socks (which I have to borrow from my husband!) and I am only zipping the side zip halfway. So far this seems to be working and I’ve worn them several days in a row. They still are not the most comfortable shoe ever, but they are getting there and at least I’m past the blister stage.

Oh, come on now. I’m not even going to wear a sweatshirt without at least a LITLLE bit of jewelry! And I love the way these two pieces fit together.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving if you are celebrating and have a great rest of the week if you are not, and I’ll be back to REGULAR updates next week!

Sweatshirt, vintage, Thrifted
Tank, Target
Jeans, Steve and Barry’s
Shoes, Doc Martins
Scarf, ½ American Apparel Circle Scarf
Diamond necklace, gifts, ages ago
Talon necklace, Talonalia

Oh my gosh, what a shame those Docs are such foot-shredders ... they're FANTASTIC.

Yeah for short workdays, especially with pay LOL!

I love how you twisted that circle scarf both days here.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ugh breaking in shoes sucks. I have so many pairs of unworn shoes that hurt too much to even try ot break in!

I still totally adore my children's size Bowie sweatshirt (THANK YOU NATHAN!). My sister kind of mentioned something about it looking "too small" on me but I like that. I agree, way cooler than oversized!

DIY shoe stretching! This has worked for me with many a pair of difficult boots- when you get home from work- put on those suckers with socks and rub with Lexol leather conditioner. Wear around the house while you do your afterwork/cooking/cleaning routine. Take off when your feet hurt. Repeat several times a week Until the leather gets comfier and softer.

Also, you can try Shoe Stretch spray but Foot Fitter or there are several diy videos on You tube (http://tinyurl.com/mwahgd), but I haven't tried the ice technique yet...

A cobbler could probably stretch them out for you a bit. What I have used before is dubbin - it's a leather conditioner (my brother used it on his soccer boots) that softens leather and also makes it waterproof.

Try a sporting goods store for it. You rub it in with a cloth. It might darken the leather slightly, but it does work really well (test it somewhere, like inside, to see how much it darkens).

I love the look of layered necklaces you have for your recent outfits.
I tried to layer a couple of necklaces but had the feeling it wasn’t done right! So I went back to multilayer chain necklaces.
Is there a trick to wearing multiple pendant necklaces? And how to keep the pendants from banging together and making noise?
