Are You Gonna Take The Bait?

My co-workers don’t often comment on my outfits, but I got tons of compliments on this tunic. It is fabulous. And I think it’s one of those universally flattering items. Small chest, big chest, plump, thin, round, tall, whatever. I think it would look casual and chic on just about anyone.

The magalog has it styled with a belt, and I am certain I will wear it that way come Fall, but for now I wanted to keep it light for Summer. And I think it looks really nice all on its own. Sort of slouchy and polished at the same time.

PLUS, pockets. Am I right? How much do we love a well placed pocket? These do not add bulk and are in a place that makes them comfortable and easy to access.

The fabric is a pretty open weave, so layering is going to come in to play this Fall, but I could gain or lose 10 pounds and still look and feel really good in this tunic. (I know the mark listing refers to it as a “dress” but they cannot fool me. It is not a dress. It is a tunic. Please do not wear this without something under there to cover your bum. Ok?)

Honestly, I try not to do entire posts where I just rave about one thing, but I really love this. So there.

Tunic, mark
Leggings, Target
Shoes, Aldo
Bag, thrifted
Bracelet, Grandmama’s

Ha! It's your blog, you can rave about just one thing if you want to!

I really do love it and it looks especially fantastic on you! I can't wait to see how you style it in the fall!

I usually never buy anything on someone's blog but holy, this looks like a piece worth owning!! Think it runs true to size?

Work With What You've Got said...

Renie,

I think so. I'm a solid "medium" in most things and that is what I got, but the tunic is so free sized I feel like there is a lot of room to play with and whatever size you order will probably work!

That is a great tunic. I like the pockets and the zipper.

You're sooo right. It's a great tunic, and it looks awesome on you. It would be a horrible dress, if it were a dress. But it's not a dress; it's a tunic.

Also, the shoes: again, I drool (just a little).

Another tunic of yours that I really like! I absolutely love when a dress or tunic has pockets, especially when they don't add bulk. The print is great on this. I can definitely see why it has great layering potential come the fall.

That tunic is totally worth raving about -- it's super flattering and looks ridiculously comfy. And I'm glad you wisely covered your bum because you're right, that's no dress!

As usual, that looks SO much better on you than on me. I really like it without a belt on you (I didn't remember it having that much of a waist when I tried it on but it does! Yay!). You are SO much taller than me too--it wasn't nearly that short on me. I will definitely wear it with tights though!

PS--Your hair looks fab here!

This. is. FABULOUS. The zipper detailing, the pockets, the way you styled it...it's all too perfect!

I want this! I saw in on the Mark site when I was looking for the reversible skirt you wore recently. Do you sell Mark? You always seem to find the cutest things!

The print vaguely reminds me of a Ferre top I have...I'll have to get that out and photograph it for you when I'm not feeling so lazy.

pockets are definitely a must! i don't know why people make garments without them.
and that tunic IS fabulous. i'm already imagining it in my closet, paired with jeans, leggings, skirts...

You look great in that tunic! It is most definitely not a dress. Thank you for contributing toward stopping the nonsense.

Another amazing look! That tunic looks fantastic on you and I'm having some serious tunic envy over here. Though, I'm fairly certain it would be a dress on me - my legs are much closer to the ground than yours! I love the zipper detail and I'm always sold on pockets, so what's not to love?
