You Don’t Have to Come and Confess, We Gonna Find You.

Is anyone else kind of burnt out on outfit photos? I think it’s the summer and my weight gain since last summer. I have clothes I can’t wear anymore, and as a result, I have fewer clothes to wear. PLUS, it’s summer and layering is a no go. Dear Fall, please hurry. The outfits you bring are more interesting, versatile and better at hiding that serving of fries I just ate, even though I said I wouldn’t.

Have I worn this skirt on the blog before? I know I’ve worn it a couple times but I can’t recall where and my co-workers seemed to think it was new, but it’s not. It’s by mark and it is reversible and very comfortable. The other side is plain black though and I have that covered so I doubt I’ll ever wear it that way. I bought it for the gorgeous stained glass window-esque print you see here.

I have heard some of you kids complaining about the heat where you are and saying “It was 95 degrees” and I just want you all to know, we consider that a cool front. I am serious. On the news this AM they referred to our upcoming 95 degree weather and a cool front moving in and I laughed. Then the weather guy pointed out that 95 is in fact 10 degrees cooler than we have been running on average.

I am reading “Handling The Undead” by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the amazing “Let The Right One In”. It’s not due out here for a while, but I asked Caroline if she minded picking it up for me, because it was available in the UK already, in PAPERBACK! So we set up a swap. I sent her a couple pieces of jewelry I made for her and she sent me this book, which is amazing and I cannot recommend it enough. I also highly recommend “Let The Right One In” even if you have seen the movie, because it was one of the best books I’ve ever read. Rich and dark and involving.

as evidenced by my recent lack of posts, i, too, am feeling a little burnt out on outfits. even dear fiance noticed today that all i have been wearing is skirts and dresses.
dont get me wrong, i love them, but after a while, theres only so many ways to make them look different. (today is a new one: wear a skirt in a massive downpour! you get to rock first the wet look, then the crinkled look. tres fashionable!)
so yeah, i hear ya.

love this skirt, though. :)

Ooh, I loved "Let the Right One In" - it was a great movie too (the US version doesn't look as good). I will definitely look for Lindqvist's new book.

Love the skirt - very stained glass.

Eh, not so much burnt out by outfits as burnt out by life right now...

that skirt is awesome, and the buckle shoes!

I love the title- it's from the auto-tune the news guys, right? So funny!!

I had no idea you were still buying stuff from mark.! I think that skirt is so "you". Did you get the jacket from this month's preview (I forget what the new sneak peeks are called)? I did, and I'm not sure what to think--kind of disappointing.

Anyway, I think you look fab and I'm sorry you're feeling uninspired but it doesn't show!

XOXO

I have the same "song" stuck in my head! Have you read World War Z? If you like zombies, you pretty much have to read that. It's pretty messed up though, be forewarned.

Great skirt...such happy colors. And I do love something that works with a black t-shirt!

You look cute.

Same problems here: weight gain means some clothes no longer fit and there's extra weight in in the tummy to hide, plus being unable to layer = getting burnt out on summer looks.

I will add Let the Right One In to my (superlong) book list. I loved the movie, and have seen it several times. Curious how the American adaptation will turn out.

you don't look like you need to lose a pound here. I know it's about how you feel etc etc but it struck me reading this how different our bodies look in our minds than to other people. I like this outfit too - it's fun and tough at the same time, which is a tough combination to pull off.

That skirt looks great on you, and I still love those shoes.

95 and humid is too much for my Minnesotan skin. I am built for the cold.

First of all, I miss your outfit posts but I know how it is. I'm actually sick of taking pics of myself too! Which is why it hasn't been that much of a priority lately.

Plus it's hot as you said and I've gained my weight back so I'm not excited at all.

Okay...the skirt....LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!! It makes me smile!

And I've seen that movie "Let the Right One In"! It was really good. Have you seen that movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo?" It's good too.

I feel like I'm trying to get all my thoughts because we haven't chatted in a while! LOL!

You are still looks luscious!

I wish I could send some of our cool SF air your way; we're freezing out here! You look adorable in that amazing skirt though.

Oh man, where to begin? Zombie books! Antoine Dodson! And that Mark skirt! (I actually considered getting it ... but I would probably [definitely] only wear the black side out.)

Love the skirt Erin! It's awesome.

I love that skirt and those heels are freakin' fantastic!

I think we are all starting to feel ready for fall! I am sick of getting dressed to bike in the heat but be in the air conditioning, and training for a marathon in August is just miserable.

That skirt is great! I love it with the more fitted tee, too.

Yes, I can't wait for fall so I can cover my mom stomach. Ick. Although in Florida, we don't really have a fall. Oh well.

I love love love that skirt! Too bad I swore off shopping...maybe I'll try and make one with some similar fabric...hmm.

I know what you mean about cooler fall weather...although I know full well that once everyone else is blogging about breaking out their layers, I'll be jealous and stuck in Florida's heat and humidity till December. :(

Anyway..I just stumbled upon your blog through flickr, and I think you look great as you are! I'm certainly not a stick, and I don't find too many fashion blogs I can really relate to that much. So I am definitely adding you to my following list! :D

Yep, lack of layering ability, weight gain and fewer clothes are the culprits in my posting tapering off too this summer.

But that skirt is FAB, and no you have never worn it on the blog before. I would remember it for sure! Glad you came out of summer hibernation to show it off to us.

Oh yay - am really glad it's good! And I love my jewellery - the key has had many a compliment in the pub over the last couple of weeks, and the agate was worn for a birhday bbq a couple of weeks ago! xx

I'm stupid...I meant your hair still looks luscious.

My students are going to fail this year because I suck!

Everyone loves "Let the Right One In" and I just felt frustrated by it. The pacing was so slow. I like my vampires movies with more action! I feel hopelessly uncool.
