All The Lights Came On At Sunset

I had a pretty good weekend, I did not do any of the things I should have. I did one load of laundry. And I did not clean the house. I did not buy groceries. Instead, I went to a dinner party, laid in bed, went to dinner and watched several bad movies on the TV. I’m not sorry, to be honest.

It is possible I am addicted to adding hardware to this jacket. This weekend I added those chains to the side, and Nathan has me almost convinced it needs studs in the little panels where the zippers open on the sleeves (I never zip those shut; it would totally cut off my circulation!).

But look how fun the chains are! And it was so easy. I connected the chain to a large jump ring in three places to get the lengths I wanted and then used a safety pin to attach the chains to the underside of the epaulet (I hope that is how you spell that, I know how to say it, but never dreamed of a need to write it.) It took less than 10 minutes.

I’m not sure I’ll be able to wear this jacket much longer this year. As of right now, it’s chilly enough to wear it in the mornings and evenings, but way too hot to put it on mid-afternoon. I’ll miss it. It is one of my favorite things to wear. It’s so perfect for me. Normally I would get bored with something after as long as I’ve had this (a couple years, lots of wear) but I don’t think I will ever get bored with this jacket.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? I skipped the St Patrick’s Day Parades, I am not sure I’ve ever been to one. I’ve been out to celebrate at night, or afternoon, but never in the AM. I’m not sure I could handle drunk people so early. Did you brave one?

Dear Erin,

Your beauty is a crime against humanity. So much so that you should be named Venus. Henceforward I shall call you Venus.
Your hair, your skin your pretty eyes, shame me.

(are you creeped out by me yet?)

I've been a lurker for a little while now, and I just had to comment today. Love your blog, and I think this outfit sums up what I enjoy so much about stopping by your part of the interwebs - I get so much personality from your wardrobe! You look killer here, and it's so distinctly individual. Rock on :o)

That peacock print is PERFECT for you, lady! Glad you snapped it up. And the chains are a marvelous addition to your jacket.

Ooh, the chains are so badass! I love it! I agree with Sal - that top is perfect for you! I went to Target on Sunday and saw some of the Liberty stuff - I'm sure I'll pick some of it up once it's on sale... it's sad that I'm too cheap to shop at Target!

I tried that top on yesterday, and if it had looked nearly that good I would have snapped it up! I love me a good peacock print.

It's funny how I long so deeply for warm weather, but when it comes there are sadly pieces like this jacket that must be retired. I guess they're still good for the evenings, like you said, and that's something.

Lovely blouse. I was just at target and didn't see that. Hmm, I'm always at target and never see any of the cute stuff you get...

Your weekend sounds wonderful. I think the best weekends are the ones you toss the to-do list and just have fun!

That jacket only gets better and better... it'll be a pity to put it away for the summer but sunshine is a fair trade, no?

LOVE the chains on the jacket--so perfect. I will be sad to see it go when summer comes too!

That's a great blouse. I love how you always find something so "you" in every one of those Target collections. I never even get to see most of them by the time I make it to the stores that actually carry them.

Every time I see those shoes I start thinking about getting my own pair of snakeskin heels. Maybe someday soon...I just love yours so much!

Right now I'm not sure which to be more jealous of: the jacket itself or the good weather that won't enable you to wear it much longer. That blouse is amazing, too!

What an awesome embellishment- it looks great! And I adore that top; I must resist the impulse to run to Target and buy it.

great outfit today. I love the blouse! I actually ordered the ruffled tiered dress in the same print, but it has not arrived yet. :-)
