Take Your Body to the Floor, Your Disco Needs You

So this morning as I was walking up the stairs to the office I was thinking about how I basically wore these pants yesterday. I have two pair, so I didn’t literally wear the same pants*, but as far as everyone else is concerned, I might as well be. And then I started thinking about my collection of denim leggings. I have 2 of every kind I own with the exception of a blue pair I got a long time ago at Target. The only reason I have only one pair of those and not two is that they only had 1 pair left, and they never restocked.

That got me started thinking about multiples, because I also have this top in reds and pinks. And I have dresses I have in twos. And shoes. And two black leather biker jackets with spikes. And so I thought maybe I would talk about multiples today on the blog. And then I got online and you know what? Sal and Winona already covered it. Today. How strange is that? Talk about multiples!

What are your feelings on multiples? Do you buy things in multiple colors? Or multiples of the very same thing? Clearly my outfit today proves I believe in both!~

*I don’t wash my pants every time I wear them, heck I don’t wash them every 3 times. I wash them when they need it. But I still wear a different pair of the "same" pants if I am going to wear the “same” pants two days in a row. I’m not sure why other than to have something to counter with when a co-worker accuses me of wearing the same pants two days in a row. Not that that has ever happened, it is apparently just a fear of mine.

Blouse, Wal-Mart
Denim Leggings, Target

I can't believe that top is from Wal-Mart - it's so cute on you! I love the buttons on your boots too! I am not a big multiple person, because I thrift almost everything... I guess when I really like a t-shirt or tank I will get it in several colors!

I am guilty of buying multiples. If I love something and only by one...I start sweating at night because know there are other colors that exist and what if I need that color. I also do that for tank tops, especially black and white tank tops. If I love the fit, I buy several.

ok, lemme just multiply the same comment i made on sal + winonas posts:

personally, if i like the cut of something, i will buy it in every color i like, assuming i can afford it. i do at least make the effort to space out my wearings of said items. (the top im wearing today, i actually have in 4 colors!)

When you find the perfect anything, it's definitely a good idea to get multiples. I have about 3 different colors of the 3/4-length sleeved cardigans from Target. I'm thinking of getting a 4th! I wear them all the time!

I totally buy multiples of things. I just realized that my whole outfit today has a twin in my closet (the cardigan, the top, the pants, even the boots!) I think that for every pair of boots I own in black, I have their brown twin. I figure If I adore something, it makes me feel good when it's on, and I can afford it then I probably own at least two of it :)

I'm one of those weirdos that DOESN'T buy multiples... I don't like having the same thing in two+ colors. I'd rather buy two different items, than two of the same. But that's just me. :)

I buy in multiples but mostly with shoes and tanks/camis.

It's the hot topic of the day! You know how I feel ... and I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my multiples-buying habits.

Just ballet shoes and flip flops I think...I get bored too easily for multiples although sometimes when something I have loved passionately starts to wear out I wish I had brought two. Sadly by then it’s always too late.

So crazy...I JUST read Sal's and Winona's posts! Multiple multiples posts! Ooh, that reminds me that I did a good post on multiples on my defunct I'm-not-going-to-say-the-name-of-the-designer blog. I'm going to rescue that and repost that on my blog. Thanks!

Why would you not buy multiples of something you bought that you love and looks good on you? I love multiples, especially certain styles of shoes, pants, cardis... and those indispensable Target ultimate tees, long-sleeve and short-sleeve!

I was just wishing I'd bought a second pair of the jeans I have on today.:0) I like multiples. However, if I buy multiples I usually buy different colors of the same thing. I have many cardigans and a couple pair of shoes in differing colors.

I do buy multiples, but in different colors. I've never bought an exact duplicate of anything, though I've definitely wished I had several times.

I really love those jean leggings, you're definitely convincing me that I need a pair.

Ha, I was not only thinking about multiples today, I was buying them! I stocked up on spring dresses, and they all pretty much have the same shape. And I don't really care; it's good to stick with what works sometimes.

Since I try to limit my wardrobe shopping to thrift stores, I don't have the "multiple factor" to worry about one way or another :) I can see advantages if ones budget supports it though....

I actually can't believe those are denim leggings, because they look really great and I have such a negative association with the words "denim leggings"!

Great blog, by the way. I found you off of IFB.

haha! i am right behind you on the pants washing thing, especially jeans. i wash them when they're dirty or when they get a little stretched out from me wearing them multiple times. & i think the same way about coworkers accusing me of wearing the same thing two days in a row. it's never happened, but you gotta be prepared, right?! =)
