You Will Believe in Love and All That Its Supposed to Be

No, it’s not really warm enough outside to be without a jacket, but I think it might be this afternoon AND it certainly is in my office.

March 3

No worries, I did have on a jacket…

So... speaking of books (by which I mean, speaking of a book, yesterday) , what do you like?

What are your favorite non-fiction and fiction books? Why?

My favorite all time non-fiction book is Geri Halliwell’s first autobiography (yes, she has two!) “If Only”.

if only

I just really enjoyed the refreshing and honest tone, and I identified with her dreams. Plus I was and always will be a huge Spice Girl and then Geri fan*. I only know about and love Girls Aloud (who are my all time top pop group) because Geri was a judge on the talent show they won, and thus I bought their first single when it came out, because of the Geri connection. But honest, it’s a really good read if you’re into that sort of thing, and I am.

My favorite all time fiction is “The Time Traveler’s Wife” by Audrey Niffenegger.

It is an amazing blend of love story, thriller/suspense and sci fi. All the things I like in fiction, done all at once and done really, really well. I have lost count of how many times I have read it but I own a hard back version, a paperback version, the audio on tape and the audio on CD. The voice actors on the audio versions are ACE and I was really pleased. Henry is perfection.

Back view!~ (Sorry about the bra view, it happens!)

*I own all the Spice CDs and singles, I have a huge box in storage with Spice dolls, Spice bags, Spice buttons, a Spice DUVET COVER…I have every book they ever put out, and I also own all of Geri’s solo albums and singles as well as books by Geri, Mel B, two by Victoria and a box of magazines. It’s crazy.

The Time Traveler's Wife is also one of my favorite books. I remember when by husband bought it for me for Christmas a few years ago not knowing if I had read it or not. At the time I hadn't and was cautious since I didn't know anything about it, but boy I am glad he got it because it is amazing.

I love the movie as well, Rachel McAdams does such a great job as Claire and Eric Bana is the perfect Henry!!

I am jealous of all your sun and warmer weather.

Ooooh I love your tattoos!! And what a great transitioning-into-spring print!

As for favorite books... I ADORE the Time Traveler's Wife. What did you think of the movie? Even though they totally changed the ending (right?), I really liked it. Especially because Rachel McAdams was such a perfect choice for Clare! I want to re-read the book... relive the fantasy, ya know?

Other favorite fiction books include The Lovely Bones, Water for Elephants, the Harry Potter series, the Tales of the City series, and I'm also a mystery-lover (favorite authors include James Patterson - particularly the Women's Murder Club series taking place in SF!, Robert Crais, and Janet Evanovich).

I'm not much into non-fiction, but I could be persuaded for the right subject matter!

You are my floral-print hero - I've GOT to start nabbing some before it gets truly springy!

Oh my. A sleeveless dress just paired with a leather jacket....this is so mean! It was only 5 °C here today! No going out without warm clothes in sight...*sigh*

It is still very pretty to look at, and while warming my fingers on a cup of hot coffee I start dreaming of spring again.

I love The Time Traveler's Wife too. I think we have similar taste in books.

BTW, I went to a CABI clothing party last night and they are calling the jean legging a jegging as well.

Thanks for taunting some of us up north with no jacket! I walked out of the house with a trench coat this morning thinking my heavy sweater would work out with it but I was freezing!

Anyway, I don't often read non-fiction but I love reading Jen Lancaster. I just finished "Such a Pretty Fat..." and it actually made me laugh out loud, which I think makes a great book.

My favorite fiction book is "House of Leaves", even though I don't fully understand it. Hah :)

I hope your day goes well!

I SO NEED one of those reversible Target dresses! They are just awesome!

I have too many favorite fiction books. But I think my favorite non-fiction is The Wisdom of Crowds. Or perhaps Mistakes Were Made (But Not By Me). Both really excellent sociology/psychology/economics paperbacks.

I love the dress! Not Geri so much, I can't stand her at all actually. But then I'm not a pop girl.

My favourite book is 1984. I recently read the handmaid's tale and was so impressed by that too. Not sure I have a favourite non-fiction book.

You always find the BEST dresses - I'm so envious! Will you be my personal shopper? :)

I have a serious love for chick-lit. Lately I've been a big book-on-tape fan - listening to lots of David Sedaris and Jennifer Lancaster.

lol i love your love of the spice girls, and i'm a little jealous that you're a bigger fan than i am. I do own Spice World on VHS (and i've seen it about....48930284 times) and I went to their reunion tour (EPICLY AMAZING) so I have a teeshirt from that!

Sounds like we share a love for the Spice Girls! My sister came over a few weeks ago and we watched Spice World and then had a little impromptu dance session in the kitchen. I'd probably like Geri's autobiography; I devoured Victoria's book about fashion.

I love all your layering with the OTK socks and tights, and love the dash of floral print, as well. Kickass tattoo, btw. :)

Time Traveler's wife is one of mine AND my fiancé's favorite books. When I told him it involved time-traveling, he had to read it. We even saw the movie together, which was sadly disappointing in my opinion. I might have to get the audio book now!

Are your cowboy boots comfy? I wore mine all day today and am now regretting it.

I love books, I have a massive collection! Some of my favorites are Mists of Avalon and Poisonwood Bible - I can't say I read much non-fiction though. I went through a Joan Didion phase several years ago.

Shit! I haven't even had ONE autobiography yet! I'm such a slacker.

I love your socks! I just bought some gray over-the-knee socks yesterday and was trying to solve the problem of looking too much like a school-girl at 27 years old and lo and behold you've figured it out with the tights underneath. Brillant!

On the topic of books, my 2 fave fiction are: Lolita and MiddleSex.
