Bloggers, do you blog an outfit the same day you wear it? I go through cycles. Times where I am all caught up and blogging same day and times where I have a couple outfits in reserve and I am posting a few days behind. I think I prefer being behind. It lets me wear the outfit for an entire day, thus letting me really experience it, and get to know all its perks and pitfalls. Plus, I feel like I have a more natural reaction to an outfit a few days out, when I am a little removed from the immediacy of how the outfit felt, and can assess the pictures from a step back.
That all seems a little deep and over the top for pictures of outfits, but that’s how I live my life, yo.
My reaction today to discovering this outfit was next in line to blog about? “Yay! I love that outfit!”
It was comfy, and just the right level of dressy-casual for a day at the office with no meetings. If I have a meeting with a higher up, I like to keep it a bit dressier, and would have chosen different shoes. But these were perfect for this day. I loved how the denim leggings scrunched into them.
I also loved this picture of my dog, being a creeper, photo-bombing me and PEEING IN MY PICTURE.

I really go back and forth with when I blog something. I try to catch up, but have been woefully behind for some time now.
I really love this outfit. Glad to see that lovely jacket again! :)
I love how Bitty thinks he is being SO sneaky but you are totally on to him. Ah ha ha!!
Hahaha love the dog!! I tried blogging on the same day for a long time, but it was sooo difficult, especially because my schedule is so crazy. Now, I try to have a backlog.
I don't think I've ever posted an outfit the day I wore it. It's just too much to keep up with. Plus, I wholeheartedly agree that having some distance from the outfit allows revisiting them to be quite fun and educational.
Beautiful colors in that blouse for you! And the little one making his mark is too funny! Now, he's famous :o)
I tried a one week delay, which was great for the first couple weeks that were rather busy. However, now that I'm working from home on a self-directed project, I don't need that delay. When I was doing the delay, I took one day and blogged for the next week. This meant I couldn't add in the more time sensitive things, such as challenges, or personal peeves about the outfit. However, now I seem to be blogging in the morning so I still don't get to comment on how the outfit worked out for the day. For example: I definitely felt like a muppet for the colour combination I wore on Friday, since I was actually in a more conservative environment that afternoon!
Oh, I love this outfit, too. And your creeping, sneaking dog in the background is awesome.
For a while there I was blogging same-day ensembles. But now I've got two fellow bloggers and have the luxury of a backlog. The backlog's been a REALLY good thing as it's helped me to, as you say, get some distance from the outfit. And I've deleted some photos as a result that would have made for awkward postings. In short, the backlog helps me pretend to have better daily blog fashion than I have in real life.
I've hardly ever seen such a guilty expression on a dog!
I usually post my outfits the day after I wear them. I don't usually have time to load pictures and post before work, so I wait until later.
I usually post the day of, and I like it that way because I'm actually WEARING the outfit when I'm writing about it! It just makes more sense to me personally that way, but your idea about being able to reflect back on wearing it for an entire day in the middle of week would definitely work for some people!
Love those boots!
What a super cute top (and dog!) I love the harness boots too! I tend to be all caught up and blog what I am wearing that day during the school year but be all behind and crazy in the summers/winter break!
I think the "outfits in reserve" is a good idea, lets you get to know the outfit over the day.
And Bitty thinks he's being so sneaky! haha.
I almost always post the photo that day. If you ran into me today at the store, (10-4-10), than that is what I have on.
Until about 2 weeks ago, I blogged same day or next day. I got really behind while performing and moving, so while I was playing catch up, I decided that I really like blogging a week after the fact b/c I can prep a whole bunch of posts at once whenever I'm in the mood, and then my blog runs on its own for the next week.
I love this top!!
I take my photos (usually) the night before I post, so everyone's seeing what I wore the day before. I do it because I like having my post go up in the morning, that way I can sleep on it all night and make sure I like what I wrote.
I am usually behind, just because I sleep really late. sometimes I like having a few back-ups, but I am usually tired of the outfit by then, and many don't make it to my blog cause i am inspired with something new. I tire easily of an outfit. Sometimes i try not to look through inspiration blogs as not to tire of my "line-up" ;) Kinda silly i suppose. I shoot em out as soon as I can most of the time.
Loving the boots :)
First, I love everything about that outfit, especially the top!
I prefer on the day or the next; if it gets too far in the past I start to feel stressed about falling behind, and I am less forgiving about outfits or photos, which means I will end up skipping ones I don't like in hindsight.
I don't post an outfit every day so it's slightly different for me. I only take pictures of outfits that i consider to be interesting or fun or successful. I am about a week behind just now, i.e. this week's outfits were from last week, and that's ideal. I like to take my time with editing the photos, and choosing the best one, and I only really have time for that at the weekends. I do fall more behind quite often and sometimes it gets a bit ridiculous, like you're talking about something you wore a month ago when the weather was completely different.
I generally post same day but, maybe not at the same time each day... if the morning is crazy it might happen after I get home. I love that top
Ha, that dog is so sneaky.
I blog same day usually. Today, I took my pics in the morning (taking the bus instead of walking), so I'll post during the day.
hee my dog photobombs but thankfully she's never pissed in a pic!
When I do outfit pictures they're usually at least a few days after the fact. Almost all my posts are backlogged to some extent. I usually sit down and write a few posts at a time and then schedule them spaced out. It helps keep my blog steady so that if I'm super busy one week I don't feel like I have to squeeze blogging in too - I know I have at least a few days saved up.
I do get excited when posts I like are coming up in the queue!
It's funny that you say you're "behind" when you have a few outfits in reserve -- that's when I say I'm ahead! The reason is, if I have some outfits in reserve then I can write several posts at once and schedule them out over the next few days; that way if things get hectic or I want to take a break, I have that luxury whenever I need it. I prefer writing when I'm really feeling it, versus struggling to just put something down so I can get it posted. Plus, writing a post that won't go live for a few days means I can go back and edit it if I think of something more to add or change.
Hahaha, oh your dog is adorable! LOL
