I wore this outfit on an ill-fated Saturday night. First, I burned my hand making dinner. We had set plates down. On the stove. On a burner. That had been boiling pasta 5 minutes ago. So that was not awesome. But I put my hand in a bowl of ice water immediately and avoided any permanent or even temporary damage. Then I got all dolled up…
And we went down to The Handsome Kitten (which is what our friends Jason and Kat’s apartment becomes when it is used as a show venue) to see our friends Giggle Party play. Now I knew before hand that that crowd would be on the younger side. OK? I understood that. What I didn’t understand is that we would be the ONLY people, besides the band, who were over 18. I am not kidding. It was wall to wall teenagers in there. So I stayed for maybe 20 minutes, panic building in my chest, and then had Nathan take me home. There is almost NOTHING I find more frightening than teenagers*, and that many of them in one place at one time? A big no thank you to you.
But I really liked this outfit, so I goofed off and took a few poor quality indoor shots for you before I took it off. And I added antlers in case you got bored.
*I’m not saying they are ALL bad, OK? Just most of them. You know it’s true.

I really like the outfit too! The antlers make it work ;-)
So pretty, as always!

Sniff. So can I as a teenager still read your blog? :)
Oh god, the children. SOOO bad! SOO SOO bad! They make me hate anything vampire related and the radio. I am literally afraid to listen to the radio.
*shudders in the corner
You looked hawt though.
I used to get annoyed with teens easy, but I have been working with them at a Teen Center on the base here, primarly the middle school aged..I love them now. They are such an awesome mix of child and trying to be adult.=)
Love the pop of red in the boots.
You have some really great books on your bookshelf! Sorry, I love the outfit and the antlers, but I spent more time reading the titles of your books!
This outfit is so fun! I'm sorry the teenagers scared you away from your evening out!
Oh god, teenagers give me the heebie-jeebies. I ADORE these pictures, though! The lighting is all subtle and awesome, and the antlers don't hurt any! Plus, you look great!

Individually they're better than a teeming throng of them but I share your feelings.
Your antler pictures remind me of a book I had when I was little. I don't know what it was called, but there was a girl who grew antlers so she hung laundry on them or hung donuts on them and covered them with a big piece of cloth when she went in public and pretended she just had on a really big hat.
OK now I have to go figure out what it was called because it's killing me!
I love the outfit (esp. the skirt and boots), and as someone who has more than their fair share of antlers on head pictures, I heartily approve of your posing choice!
I spent more time looking at your books than your outfit too (ah ha ha), but I LOVE these pictures. The antlers are the best touch evar.
So sorry you burned your hand and had to deal with teenagers though--ugh.
XOXO
Love the outfit!
I think you mean the book "Imogen's Antlers". I read that to my preschool class. When her antlers disappear she gets a peacock tail instead.
The outfit- so flipping awesome. I now want a sequin skirt.
Teenagers whom I do not know = scary.
Teenage boys especially.
Love love love your skirt!!!
What a great combination!
I too hate teenagers, mostly in groups, but I didn't like them when I WAS one, so.....I didn't really have a point there. Teenagers. Bad. lol
Love the outfit - and I love the antler shot.
I agree about teenagers, especially groups of them. I stopped at Starbucks yesterday not realizing it was across the street from a high school. I practically dove over the counter to get my coffee so I could get out of there as quick as possible!
The sparkle skirt and boots look great together. I keep wondering if I can get away with cowboy boots, since I live in the Midwest.
Since this was my party, I have to say these teenagers (for the most part) were pretty awesome, but then again, they tend to give me money for playing music, so I am biased. I do not blame you one bit for bailing though! Handsome Kitten shows are usually not that full of teens.
I had a bad burn a few months ago and I still have the mark! :-(
That outfit is awesome TO THE MAXXXX!
Great outfit - shame your couldn't stay - I always feel akward at things like that too ...
Can I ask how you got your goodreads widget on your page - it won't stay on mine *frustrating*
Also was reading your book titles behind you :D
Sal xXx
haha loving the antlers!
Packs of teenagers freak me out too. They did even when I was one!
Loving the outfit though. That skirt is killer!
I feel the same way about the younger crowd. You looked great though!

There is nothing boring about this outfit, adn I love every bit of it, including the temporary antlers.
Teenagers give me hives.
Slaymaiden - yessss that was it!
Cowboy boots and bare legs with skirts or shorts are always perfect in my book!
