Collecting All The People You Love To Sing You A Song

I spent forever last night trying to put together an outfit. I think I am just having one of those uninspired streaks. I hate everything I try on, and I have trouble coming up with new combinations. It will pass! And I did finally come up with something I loved…

I forget I have this skirt. Why are some wardrobe elements prone to being forgotten? My theory is that it is a staple, and staples are boring.

My feet are not actually as small as all that, these shoes are just shaped in such a way they make me look like I have Barbie feet.

I am mostly posting this close up for Hillary and Alannah, who will both appreciate it!

That’s a limited edition Tokidoki for Lesportsac bear, a Tokidoki key chain and a kid robot munny on a clip together. I wanted it to be a wee bit over the top. Success.

So I’ve been wearing two different earrings (well technically two different earrings and one cuff). I seem to be the only one on board with this style choice. Nathan is not a fan, and co-workers are not big on the look. But I like it. I can’t even pinpoint why, other than it’s different, and not too outrageous and I love earrings. I only made one of each of these. The double ball earring I have worn every day with one hoop or another and I always wear the cuff (which I know is hardly visible, but there) on the same ear as the double earring. So basically only the left side changes. I don’t know. I like it.

Blouse, Wal-Mart
Skirt, Target
Bah, LUSH
Bag charm, various Kid Robot and Tokidoki charms
Shoes, vintage
Earrings, self made

I am amazed at the adorable stuff you find at Wal-Mart. You have a gift.

I am on board with the different earring look! I really like the little gold balls. Also, yay CUFF! I have a few of those but they tend to fall off my ear so easily that I'm always terrified that I'll lose them so I rarely wear them.

I think those shoes make your feet look amazing (and in general, I hate feet)--something about the way they curve is just perfect.

Also, I fully appreciate your purse charm selection! :)

XO!

I like the earring option, it's very Janet Jackson a la Rhythm Nation! Besides, you're setting a trend that will probably take flight next summer and you can say - I already did that!

BTW, love the shoes.

I love the mismatched earrings. A LOT, actually.

I like the earrings, too! The two sides of your body can have different personalities!

If you look at/think of the picture in the right way, it looks like the double ball earring transforms into the wing one. Pretty cool.

I love those shoes! Also, I am on board with mismatched earrings and do this frequently. I used to be a teacher and it bugged my students, so I did it to be annoying. But mainly I like it because - well, there's no rule that says they have to match! Also it means if one earring goes missing from a beloved pair you've still got something to work with :)

I love, love, love your shoes - those are so beautiful! Great outfit!

ha, I remember in The Babysitter's Club, Dawn (I think) wore two different earrings and no one understood her either. So you're in good company ;-)

I was starting to feel really bored and uninspired with my wardrobe lately, so I started a style bootcamp. Now Kendi of Kendi Everyday is doing another 30 for 30 challenge and inviting other bloggers to join in. I'm hoping it will renew my creativity, and make me appreciate all of the clothes I've gotten tired of :)

I LOVE wearing mismatched earrings.

My favourite thing to do though is to attach a dangly bit--a chain, a charm, whatever--to an earring *back* and switch out the backs, leaving the front matched (usually studs). I have never seen anyone else making earring backs separately but I am sure SOMEONE out there does... you should try it :)

I have seven holes in my ears and I have always liked putting in random, unmatched earrings in them. It looks really neat, I think. I usually go for studs when I do that though, and match it up when I wear danglies.

Those shoes are freaking fantastic... that's the problem with boat feet like mine... all the vintage shoes are too small.
ps. your last post about Nathan? Made me have a tear in my eye...seriously. He sounds fantastic!

I LOVE the earring look. I used to wear a single long earring when I was a teenager...

You are starting a trend by wearing 2 different earrings! I like it! Kinda early 90's! I swear, now the friggin' 90's is considered "retro"!!!!
Geesh!
You look great! :)
Pop in this weekend, round sunday, I am doing an up-date ion WW40!

I like the earrings. And I like that you'll wear them regardless of it other people like it. That's the way to be.

So on board with the earing thing. I'm too symettry obsessed to wear just one, but I love that non matching look on others so two different ones is a nice half way house.

I have that same skirt from Target in green, it's so versatile... I love it! It's looks really nice on you :)
