Don’t You Hear The Laughter On The Way Down?

I am not 100% sure how I feel about what I am wearing today. Part of that is due to lack of planning. How often do you plan your outfits? Do you try them on or just lay them out? I do both, but I prefer when I have time to try them on. Because sometimes it doesn’t look right when you get it all together. Like today, I planned an outfit last night and did not try it on. When I got it all on today it was TOO MUCH. And I had about 5 minutes to change, resulting in an outfit I don’t love just yet. I might when I see the pictures, you know how it is.

I go through phases, sometimes I don’t plan at all for months, but for a while now, I have been planning 2-3 outfits ahead of time for a 5 day period. That seems to be working most of the time. I like to have a couple days open, because some of my best outfits come together when I am low on time, like this…

October 8

I put this together in about five minutes and I loved it. The proportions on it are great.

I have trouble styling that nylon jacket, but I’ve managed a couple of pretty good parings lately. I got it when it was the “Deal of the Day” on Target.com, and I think I paid all of $15 for it, shipped. Nice, huh? But hard to style. I am up for the challenge though!

I love this outfit! And I really want your jacket. It's like a modern take on Jackie O's jackets.

And those jeans? You look great in them! I'm always envious of ladies who can pull of a jean.

Love this outfit! It screams Autumn to me and I really like how the green (teal?) of the shirt and the rich brown of the boots play off one another. (Also, your legs look about a million miles long.)

On work days, I usually plan my outfits when I'm lying in bed after hitting snooze or when I'm in the shower and rarely try on. I work in a corporate environment that's pretty conservative, so I'm wearing mostly sheath dresses or pencil skirts. I make them more "me" by wearing funky (sometimes loud) tights and necklaces.

I really like the jacket. I am on the hunt for an affordable military-esque jacket in this same olive color. I am really loving the contrast of the hard edged/masculine vibe of the military jacket against the soft/feminine feel of your shirt. I have also seen the same type of jacket against pastels and soft fabics - really digging on the look which you have pulled off really well!

This outfit is just awesome. Love the top, love the boots.

I tried planning outfits on Sunday for a while, but I'm lazy. It is easier, I will say that. Now that winter is upon us, I will try to go back to Sunday planning.

I love this look. I wanted that LOL for Target shirt when the collection was out, but wasn't able to snag it.

I agree, the proportions are fab. I think that blouse was MADE for you, it just screams ERIN to me!

Also loving the old skool Tori line you used! I usually forget to comment on the lyrics when I write on here but I always notice which ones you use!

I love this outfit! And that jacket is it! When you first styled it with that dress and the navy tights I fell in love with it.

And I'm like you. Lately, I have been planning my outfits in advance and trying them on the night before. Yet, those times when I just throw something on that morning are usually not my best. But, your last minute pick is really cute. I'm curious about the first outfit cause I'm sure it was good too.

Love this outfit, especially the boots/jeans. The jacket is fab, but I can see what you mean about it being difficult to style. I definitely think you aced it with this outfit! Also, love your hair in a pony tail -- I think it works perfectly for this outfit and with the neckline of the jacket.

You're right, the proportions are great in this outfit! Love how that jacket looks over the top. And the print of the top is great! I bought the pillow with that print.

I know I already "tweeted" this at you (what a silly verb), but this is fantastic. SO freaking fantastic!

I really like this outfit, the proportions are super flattering and the top is so pretty. The boots are the perfect touch!

That jacket is great on you! I love those boots too.

I tend to pick out my outfits after I'm done exercising and before I get in the shower. Which is why half the time I feel like I didn't choose wisely. I don't give myself much time. Eh. Oh well!

That Liberty of London for Target top is great! Makes me think of a Picasso. You wore it very well. And, I love the boots.

OMGsh. If I were a thief I'd come steal that whole outfit from you. The boots...in love.

I am going to try to replicate this look for myself. That's a scary thought...but I'm gonna try.

I love this pairing! I am really jealous that you own that shirt, because I love that pattern and really wanted that shirt, but they never got it at the Target by me.

I love that jacket!

When I throw an outfit together quickly - I usually love them. No over-thinking and just going with what I feel. :)
