Oh, Holy Night

(So I’m not super excited with how these pictures came out. It was rainy and I made due with the porch. But I’m going to share them anyway, because this blazer is so fantastic.)

Christmas Eve Service

This is what I wore to Christmas Eve services with Nathan’s family. Nathan thrifted that blazer, it is Nanette Lepore. I kid you not. It is velvet and cut so gorgeously. AND it fits perfectly.

Christmas Eve Service

Christmas Eve service at my In-laws church is “come as you are”. I love the sentiment. They simply want you to stop what you are doing, and come down to the church for a few moments. It’s simply communion, carols and scripture readings in a dimly lit sanctuary. It’s over almost too quickly. And since it’s “come as you are” there is no dress code. My mother-in-law usually wears jeans. But you know me. Any excuse, really.

Christmas Eve Service

And this pretty jacket just couldn’t wait to be worn. I love it. That man of mine continues to have the most amazing thrift-fu around.

Jacket, thrifted by Nathan, Nanette Lepore
Tank, skirt and tights, Target
Boots, Docs
Bag, Sondra Roberts
Necklace, Moon Raven Designs at Etsy

The blazer is fabulous! I'm so jealous of everyone's lace skirts, and would get one for myself, except for two reasons: 1) I can't find one and 2) I have no idea how or where to wear it! Maybe once I actually get one, outfits will start coming together!

Ooh, that is SO CUTE. And totally different from the flower patterns on your dresses. I just love it! Yay, Nathan!! I just wish the first picture was bigger so I could see the details better.

That xmas eve service sounds like what I *hope* the one at my old church will be like every year. Sometimes it is like that, but most of the time it's disappointing, although it always is "come as you are" (because it's the church that mostly serves the local college students).

Wowza! What crazy person decided they didn't need that jacket anymore?! Their loss...and your amazing gain! I love how you've put it with this skirt and the Docs. So cool.

That blazer needs to be worn all the time as far as I'm concerned. I love the lacey lady dress too paired with your badass boots!

Your husband is a master thrifter. He's found you some really amazing pieces and this jacket is no exception. The color is gorgeous on you!

I would love to find a church that offered a come as you are Christmas service like your MIL's. is her church in the DFW area?

Wait, I think you stole that blazer from me! Or so I wish. It's the perfect blazer, not to man-like or anything. :)

Absolutely love this outfit. Nanette Lepore is amazing. I don't like all her stuff, but the stuff that I do like, I love and keep for years. The skirt is perfect. I will be trying to copy this.

I am drooling over that blazer. And I wish I had gotten one of those lovely lace Target skirts I've seen on bloggers this fall/winter. It looks great here. You are rocking those boots.

Yes, I love that blazer! The shirt is pretty short, but you paired it perfectly with the tights and flat boots.
