So no pictures yesterday. I did get up, and I did go into work, but I had one of those mornings where I hated everything I put on and ended up late and in an outfit I didn’t like, and I just didn’t feel like that was worth documenting. I hate days like that. I was aware of how much I didn’t like or feel good in my outfit all day. Probably no one noticed. It was composed of pieces I wear all the time, just never together.
Today went better.
I didn’t take any pictures with the jacket off, but I do take that off once I get to the office. I don’t take off the hoodie. I know some people probably don’t like the hoodie with a dress look, and would prefer a cardigan or jacket, and I think that’s also a great look. But I really like the dressy casual mix of a hoodie and a dress together. Plus hoodies are just comfortable.
I have on tights and wool hiking socks, because those boots are not as warm as they look! Looking at them you would think they would be great cold weather boots, the leather is nice and thick and stiff and took forever to break in, but no. They are somehow just thin enough not to be warm.
I’m wearing my PrairieOats earrings. A lot of sellers now are doing the crystal and bullet shell thing now, but I’ve not seen any as delicate as what she is doing.
And a silver chain with religious medallion and a locket. I went through a phase where all I wore were religious medallions. I still have a few and I really like them, but I don’t wear them quite as often.
The locket is about 6 years old, judging from the pictures inside of my dog and my husband…

I love the print on the dress! I do like the mix of the hoodie and dress together, but I never wear hoodies when I'm teaching since they are so ubiquitous among my students.
I also love the print on the dress! I hate those days where you feel like your outfit doesn't "look right"- it really knocks off my whole day.
It's funny you say that about the kids wearing them, because I SO refer to them as "Punk Hoodie Youths". And I do it while wearing a hoodie. :D
Ha! I have been wearing hoodies to work EVERY DAY lately. They're warm, and it takes me a lot longer to bore holes through the elbows than it does when I wear cardigans, so they are a good bet for me!
Also, I really like the colors in that dress. It's like all four seasons in one!
I love that bag--is it new or just one you haven't been using for a while?
I noticed all the medallions on your necklace tree when I was there, and I wondered why you didn't wear any of them because I thought they were all really cool! I know you go through jewelry phases though.
So cute that you have Bitty & Nathan with you in your locket!
I love the pop of color your dress adds to this outfit!! - Natalya of Today's Best Dressed Reader: Natalya Embraces The Official Color Of 2010
Those earrings are gorgeous! I have a similar necklace.
Would you be willing to stop by my blog and give me some newbie tips? I've recently started posting some of my outfits in the hopes of developing a more interesting style.

Love your locket!
No, just no. Hoodies make a grand light when burned together at night after few shots of Jack. Douse 'em with a few shots as well for a big poof!
At some point you'll reach the age when you DEFINITELY cannot revisit youth, then you'll burn the hoodies for sure.
Lose the skirt as well or go all out and drape yourself with it. I can’t decide if you’re a motorcycle chick or a fem. The outfit needs a little lace and a V-neck. The hair could go as well, but the behind-the-times boyfriend or husband will likely raise a stink. Bangs and a short crop turns this third grader into a first rate hotty.
