A Little Bit Stranger, A Little Bit Harder, A Little Bit Deadly

There seems to be much debate in the fashion blogosphere regarding comments. I’ve been reading a lot but not saying much. I don’t want to get too much into the whole thing here (Sally and her amazing readers cover it really well here) but I will speak to my personal feelings about comments. I like them. I admit, I get mostly positive ones here, and who doesn’t like a positive comment? I don’t care if it IS the same thing 20 people before you have already said, it’s nice when you say it, too. That said, I do get some negative ones. Sometimes I like to pull them out and address them in a later post. Sometimes I ignore them. Once or twice, they’ve made me really think. Sometimes they really bother me. But I’d rather have them once in a while than not have honest readers. And I love to get comments about my titles, which are song lyrics) as much as my clothes! I love when you guys get excited about that.

This dress is hands down my favorite silhouette for day wear. A short, floaty chiffon dress with a tank and leggings underneath mean you can see my shape, but not every bump. I feel confidant and pretty every time I wear this dress. I just wish I had 10 more just like it!

You know what I really like about wearing heels, and these boots in particular? The way they make everything jiggle just a little more when I walk. With every step, my thighs, my butt, my boobs, all the bits that make a lady a lady, wiggle and jiggle. I can almost hear the burlesque music in the background all day each time I so much as walk to the office kitchen for a cup of tea. Shake, Shake, Shake. It makes me feel sexier than just about anything else.

Saturday we went to see an art show, because our friends from Giggle Party were playing, and there was a full on punk rocker there. His motorcycle jacket was all studs and cones, so I went over to talk to him about it. I have some cones (and studs) that I bought a while back, but last time I tried to use them I got blisters and it was all in all too hard and unpleasant, but I’ve been wanting to put some on one or both of my biker jackets. He explained there was a very cheap tool that punched holes for the cones, and where to get it. So I’ve ordered that. Thanks Punk Rock Boy!

I’m forcing myself to wear something other than my Wendy B piece at least twice a week, since I own SO many perfectly wonderful pieces, but I got to tell you. I miss it when I wear something else. I just do.

LOVE that dress - I'm really into tiny little florals lately! I love the tall socks with the boots - I think I am unfortunately too short to do that because all my boots come up right to my kneecaps!

As far as the comments thing, I really like them to know WHO is coming by my blog, it's one thing for Google Analytics to tell me how many people came by, it's quite another to know who! That's why I comment on blogs - as a way to say "Hey, I'm still reading your posts because I like your style!"

I really like the socks over tights under boots look. Hmm...do you think that could work with shorts, like in the fall? I have worn shorts, tights, and boots before, as I know you have. I might have to experiment with that. Thanks for the inspiration!

And I still love that dharma wheel!

Thanks for the shout-out, lady. And for your honesty, too!

This outfit reminds me that I've been meaning to copy your thigh-high socks over tights look - I just adore it.

Oh I just love this whole look to pieces! And especially your comment about how heels make you feel feminine... way to own the lady-jiggle!

I liked when you posted the hateful comment and basically shamed the anonymous commenter -- a brilliant way to deal with a troll. And by the way, I LOVED yesterday's Dead Milkmen quote!

I agree about the comment thing. I have been meaning to bring it up on my blog but I don't know how to go about it diplomatically. Then again, I do feel as though Jessica did not go about it diplomatically at all. I like the way you have attacked negative comments in the past I would probably do the same.

In the spirit of good commenting...
"Oh my god, I like totally love your outfit!".

LOL @ jiggling when you walk! I know exactly what you mean! I kinda feel like how Beyonce feels when she turns into Sasha fierce.

When I wear heels...it makes me "put an extra a dip in my hip" when I walk!

As far as the comments....I love to get them too. Some people are haters and haters make the world go round...so haters entertain me at best.

I love your boots and I can't stop giggling about your wiggling lady bits. Sexy time.
I just read Sal's comment debate and my head spinneth... so much to say but is it worth saying?

I love that little jacket - so cute! You are such an inspiration to me on a daily basis.

And re. comments - I am lucky too, getting mostly positive ones. I tend not to publish any that are just rude, but constructive criticism I will. I notice a few bloggers have turned off their comments facility recently. I think that's a shame as leaving/receiving comments is part of the whole blogging experience.

Very cute outfit. I love the wiggle comment. I often hear music to accompany an outfit I'm wearing too (eg my biker boots always inspire a guitar solo in my head or my ballet shoes always invoke the end of act I of Swan Lake) so it’s good to know I’m not totally mad…or if I am then I’m not the only one.

Just wanted to chime in to let you know I'm a big fan of yours. Today made sense because I actually bought that same jellyfish thingie from Michaels to make into a necklace! I love your floaty dress and have been contemplating one myself - thanks fro the inspiration!

The socks! I love the thigh high socks!

So much, in fact, that I leapt over to SockDreams.com to see about getting a pair.

But I've got thighs that wiggle and jiggle whether I'm wearing heels or not, and I'm not sure if they'll fit into Sock Dreams' thigh highs.

Are yours terribly narrow up top?

Thanks!

It warms my heart to read of the happiness you find in your jiggly bits. I like mine, too!

Love, love, love the socks with the tights! I've been wearing knee socks with my tights and my short/uggy boots!

Suz, Yes! I think that sounds really cute. I am going to try it as a weekend look.

2MR41H, They are snug, but not tight. I measured my thigh right about where it hits and it looks like it’s like 15 inches around. (does that sound really big or is it just me?) So that’s about what the stretch to.

Thanks, everyone!

I really like how comfy this outfit looks. And I love how that dress looks under the leather jacket. :)

I love the way the dress looks with the leather jacket! and your hair ... amazing.

My favourite part of Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk is where he sings "a little bit heiress, a little bit Irish, a little bit ...." so good.

I say wear my necklace every day, if you want, till you're inspired to go back to the other jewelry. When I have a new piece done, I wear it all the time. But I find I go back to the other pieces in due time. I don't have to force it at all.

I'm actually saying this in an unbiased way and not because it's related to my necklace! I just think it's true that we always get interested again.
