Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Frightfully warm!

December 20

Yep. It is THAT warm. I drew the line at having to give myself a fresh pedicure but I did give up and go back to open shoes.

So, HEY, it’s been like, really hard for me to get back into the routine of taking my own pictures. I miss the time with Nathan. Plus it takes longer to do it yourself. When Nathan went back to work, he was leaving much earlier than I was so I shifted my hours forward and as a result I had to adjust to getting up an hour earlier or so, and now I’m trying to get up even earlier than that to make time for self portraits. I can’t believe I used to get up even EARLIER than this when I had an actual commute to work! Who WAS that girl? That early rising, self portrait taking, outfit planning MACHINE? Anyone else taken an extended break from blogging? How did you get your groove back?

December 20

My outfit mojo is very much in winter mode right now. Even though I’m from Dallas, where we go from balmy to freezing and right back to balmy within the space of days not weeks or months, I personally have trouble switching back and forth. I get in a groove. I’m all about sweaters and leggings and leg warmers. WHAT IS THIS?

December 20

Anyone else struggle with this?

December 20

(That sounded so complain-y. I’ll make a note to be less of a complainer tomorrow. I mean hey! I don’t have to shovel snow! The streets are safe! I am not frozen to the bone! It’s not so bad.)

Cardigan, Target
Tank, hand me down from Alannah

Necklace, self made

Oh my gosh, that looks gorgeous on you. That is how I WISHED it would've looked on me. So glad you took it! ROCKIN, girl. <3 Love it!

i have taken a serious hiatus from my blog. it was never intended to be this long, but since it has gotten cold, i cand find anywhere indoors that i can take a photo -- every corner of our place is just piled high with crap.
i have, at least, tried to dress myself as though i am still taking photos -- just because im not showing my outfit to the blogosphere doesnt mean i dont still want to look fab!
so if you figure out how to regain your mojo, please share your secret with me!

I am so jealous that you are wearing open-toed shoes in December!. Love your tank!

You look long and tall and willowy in this, lady. Love it!

I am glad you are back at blogging.

That tank is super cute! I'm down southwest of you (in TX). The back and forth can drive me crazy! I just have easy to remove layers, but even still I get caught with a wool layer on a balmy day and I have to use the AC to stay cool.

Feel free to complain about the spastic weather all you like. I would like it just go one way or the other. That isn't true...I want it cold. I have tons of cute tights and sweaters and scarves and boots that I desperately want to wear. I hate not knowing from day to day what I can wear.

On an upbeat point, this outfit looks fabulous on you. You look very tall and skinny.

You look very chic! CO has unseasonably warm weather too, and I am just flummoxed style-wise.

I understand the weather complaints. I live in Florida where we have had seriously cold days and then nice and Sunny days. I got all excited and got a few new sweaters to wear as shirts, only to now have weather where it is too warm to wear a long sleeve shirt.

Ugh, I am so in the midst of an extended break from blogging myself. I got accepted to grad school and started class 2 weeks later and something in my life had to take a back seat. I do miss it, but now I feel like such a fraud if I just start posting as if nothing happened. LOL

it's good to see your pretty face again though :) Whatever happened with the skinny jeans challenge? Did you stick to your personal goals??

Love that tank, so cute!

I have taken blogging breaks, but always tried to post at least once or twice a month to keep my mojo going at least a bit.

Not every post HAS to have pictures, I know for a good 6 months on my blog I hardly ever had a good picture of myself. True fans will still be here, and may enjoy the variety! Be you post once a day or once a month, I will always be a fan! :)

LOL -- you can survey the people in my post today and see what they have to say about extended breaks ;-)

Yeay, you're back! This is a great outfit. As it is a warm 34 degrees today, I am giggling at your "winter" outfit. But it sure looks nice on you.

The tank is beautiful. The colors suit you.

That tank is gorgeous. And be very, very glad you don't have to shovel or deal with an iced-over car every morning! :)

That top is gorgeous! As others have said, the colors really do suit you. I think you look fantastic.

I can relate to the weird awkward Dallas weather thing, and the problems it causes when getting dressed. As a recent North Dallas transplant, it's taking some getting used to. Layering has helped - a blazer over a tee over a long-sleeved tee, with skinnnies works for me.
