Day 2 (27 + 2 + 14 + 22)

[I'm excited and honored to be featured on the We Love Colors Style Blog today! Check me out if you get a chance!]

Day 2! This dress is reversible, and we only took one picture of the dress. So I'm not cheating. Cheaters never win! (OK, sometimes they do, actually, because life is not fair. But hopefully they feel really guilty about it.)

27 Free People Sweater Coat + 3 AA Charcol Cardigan + 14 reversable birthday dress + 22 sperry boots =

Day 2 (27 + 2 + 14 + 22)

We ran (and by ran I mean we creeped slowly down the sidewalk because none of that is snow. All of that is hard, slick ice. It just started to snow as we took these though! Double danger!) outside to shoot these and I realized I was wearing my old glasses. Plus they were fogging up a lot. So I'm glassesless in these shots. I am not comfortable without my glasses! I've been wearing them most of my life since I was six months old and I just think they look good on me. I have a face for glasses. Plus Nathan was making me smile real smiles, so you get to see the full on chipmunk face! Also, I am amused by the snow that looks like giant dandruff. I am not accustomed to it being so cold outside that snow sticks to a person and does not melt.

Day 2 (27 + 2 + 14 + 22)

I just have a really round face. I think it might have something to do with why people think I'm younger than my years, though, so I'll keep it. I was in Target the other day looking at shoes (I didn't buy any! Go me!) and this nice lady started chatting with me about what I thought she should get her 20 something daughter (we decided on the Gold Dolce Vita for Target platforms from the Spring collection) and then said "you are about her age? What are you 25?" Um, yes. In my dreams. When I told her I would be 35 this month she seemed genuinely shocked, which naturally made my day!

Day 2 (27 + 2 + 14 + 22)

So far I'm not feeling any pressure at all. I feel free not having to look at my whole closet. And both of the outfits I've worn so far are things I would not have put together. I had no idea I had so much to learn from this, and it's only day 2!

Reversible Dress, Target

I'm so jealous that you won those boots. I was so hoping to win!
Jealousy aside, I love all the color today. You look so springy despite the snow on the ground.
And yeah? 35? I don't believe that for a second.

I'm surprised at how free I feel with having a limited number of pieces, too. It's...weird. A nice weird, but weird.

You really do look 25! I'm glad that made your day. I like it when I still get carded. :) Then again, I'm shorter than most 12 year olds so I guess it works.

I love this outfit, the pattern mixing, the bright colors, the scarf - you look adorable! Please be careful on that ice!

A big YAAAAAY for those bright tights!

I really love those boots! What a good win! I had that dress but gave it to my cousin because I never wore it. Now I wish I'd kept it. (the reversible dress) and your sweater coat dress is awesome. Basically, I won't your entire outfit.

I LOVE the bright tights! You look so badass. And I'm giggling at your ice, since I'm stranded inside with about 2 feet of snow outside. Yikes!

Wait a second, you can't be 35. Really? No, I mean really?! You do look younger - but hey that's a good thing right? I get that a lot too {people think I'm in college still}.

And I love the real smiles! Yay to Nathan for getting those out of you.

Reversible dress? Perfect for such a challenge, or for any closet, really! I love this combination so very much. From the stripes in the long coat to the floral print and the big belt. And the lace up boots! Gosh, I really want to own everything in this photo, and you're wearing it all with such panache!
People never know how old I am because I started getting grey hair at age 23. I'm 31, but people are always confused... I think it keeps it a little mysterious!

I actually really miss your old glasses!

I love reversible dresses (and faux-reversible dresses where you rip out the tags and show that dress who's boss. I was gobsmacked when you said you were 35! (I thought you were in your 20s... and just had your life together) I'm love how everything gets pulled together by the scarf and the tights, this is some great pattern-mixing.

Who are you?!? I don't recognize you! Oh, it's just those rockin' tights. You look amazing, Erin! (You always do though, with or without candy-colored legs.)

You look GREAT!! The purple scarf makes your face glow! I was surprised to see such bright colors at first, but they look amazingly flattering.

Also, thank you so much for adding me to your blog list! Sorry to be a pain in the ass though - would you mind updating the link to toiltroublestyle.blogspot.com? I was wondering where the Google Analytics hits to my old address were coming from :o)

I love all the purples and teals today! I'm with you on the super young looking thing, this summer a new teacher at my summer school thought I was a high school student. She was questioning me about why I was in a closed classroom and it was awkward to be like, um, no... I'm 29 not 17, I work in the nurses office. It's really strange to see you without your glasses, but you look great!

Cara said...

I figured you were older than me (I'm 27, and think everyone is older than me, because I'm still 12 and awkward in my head), but I never would have guessed 35.

A reversible dress is definitely not cheating, but is an epic-ly awesome piece to include in your 30 for that reason! I'd love to see you style it with the exact same pieces for each side!!

Holy cow, I think this is my favorite Erin outfit ever!! I love everything about it - the colors, the layering, the scarf - LOVE!

And happy birthday fellow February-birthday friend! Yay for birthdays making the month of February bearable :)

Yes, I definitely think you're one of those lucky folks who looks a decade younger. And you look so cute with this big smile. Great tights.
And congrats on being feature on WLC's blog.

Yesss, huge fan of the purple! That scarf looks awesome--is it less bulky than the AA ones? I might have to check Target if it's a recent aquisition.

You don't look freezing at all, which is quite impressive since I would be like "pictures outside? In this weather? NO M'AM".

XOXO

I thought you were younger than me! And I think you look great when you're smiling. If it was me I would have looked terrified of slipping on the ice - good ol' Sperry's DO have good grip though.

I think it's awesome you picked a reversible dress in your 30 for 30. It's definitely not cheating. It's maximizing your choices. :)

I was THIS close to bidding on some of those boots on ebay. I'm sad to say I didn't. I think they would've fit my life perfectly.

Very cute outfit!

Wow, you DO look young! I definitely thought you were younger than I am (31). And I know what you mean about having a face for glasses--I feel like I look really strange w/o mine.

That bag! I love that bag. Do you happen to know the style name?

First of all, huge congrats on your feature over on We Love Colors. What a fantastic thing! I'm thrilled for you.

Secondly, look you smashing in purple. You are courageous to stand outside in this horrific weather and pose for pics. I love your dress. Those boots are killer. I admire you for being proud of your age. You're cray for believing you have chipmunk cheeks (whateves. You're beautiful.)

i am de-lurking to tell you that i'm loving your 30 for 30 so far. you're so confident and bright and lovely in these outfits.

i also wanted to tell you that i linked to your 30x30 prep post as well as your blog on my blog today. your suggestion of kendi's ebook has helped make my remix so much easier this time around. i had an epic fail on the summer remix, and i feel so much more prepared this time around thanks to your post and kendi's book.

i'm excited to see what else you have in store! :)

Okay, I am shocked too that you are almost 35. I totally thought I was like a decade older than you and that you just had amazing taste in music from the '90s!

This outfit is divine - I love all the shades of purple, and what a wonderful giveaway score!

It's funny, I am completely opposite regarding glasses. I have needed them since 6th grade and hardly ever wore them and once I got contacts I haven't looked back. When i wear them I feel as though I am in disguise. You are gorgeous either way, but I do love you in glasses!

I love this look, especially the scarf! You look so mischievous in these pictures. I know what you mean about freedom while doing the 30 for 30. I feel excited to mix and match my pieces to make my outfits, instead of overwhelmed when I look into my closet.

ohh I love this outfit! I love the contrast of prints with the sweater over the dress... I wouldn't have put the two together but seeing you wear it totally makes sense. And those tights are the cherry on top of this already awesome look. Well done!

And, uh, ice? snow? no thanks. Although it looks pretty cool, I would sure as Susan bust my ass on it.
