I'm Fierce And I'm Feelin' Mighty

After Day 1 my feet were like "Eh, we don't feel so great but it's not so bad." But after Day 2 they were more "We hate you, please die". Oh my gosh. I am so glad I have today off. My co-workers promise my feet will adjust. Let's just hope they do it fast!

I had an exciting day though, with my fist training session behind the buy counter. I learned a lot. I spend most of the day right now working the floor, which means direct interaction with customers and lots of back and forth between the dressing room and racks. SO MUCH FUN. I seriously get paid to talk to people and handle clothes.

Plus I had a co-worker remark that she noticed that I was doing really well, and that my customer service skills are excellent. Feedback from managers is nice, sure, but feedback from fellow staff members is priceless. I don't mean to gush (OK, I do) but I have at least 3 moments every day where I just take a deep breath and breathe it all in. I am so happy. I don't remember the last time I was this stress-free. I'm focused when I'm there, and I don't have to struggle to pay attention, because I'm interested. It's interesting.

YAY ERIN! I am SO happy that you're so happy. I know how rough some of the past few months have been, so it's just wonderful to see how perfect this new gig is for you. :)

Woohoo!! I'm so happy for you- I can't wait to hear about clothes adventures and the crazy stuff that comes in. Good luck with the feet- in high school I worked in a video store and it was rough the first week or so.

That's awesome! I'm so glad you like it and you're good at it! I love the shorts and that tee is awesome! I was a waitress for years and got used to being on my feet all the time. I never got used to standing in one spot all the time so I hated bartending long shifts!

So glad to hear it's going well! After a decade in retail it is true, your feet and legs and whole body get used to it - you may also end up with weight loss from all that standing and walking. The days go by so much faster in retail world than any other profession, I often miss it!

And the shirt? love love love!

I'm so happy for you. It sounds like such a fun job for you!! I'm slowly working toward the same path. I want to create full time. I'm so thankful now that I can have a part-time "regular" job and use the rest of my time creating.

So happy for you, lady! I think we can all agree that enjoying your job is a huge deal, and not something that commonly occurs. You look happy and adorable. (And I might be ever-so-slightly jealous of your sweet job...)

You look so good and happy! It really shows that you're doing something you love.

I remember returning to retail. Holy-feet-killer. And my hips hurt, too. It does get better!

Congrats on the job going so well. You will get used to being on your feet, but that doesn't mean you can't kick off your boots and relax at the end of the day! Cute shorts. I love how simply perfect this outfit goes together.

That tee shirt. I want.

Your coworkers are right- your feet will adjust to being on the floor all day. Just give it a week and you'll be fine. In the meantime, I am so freaking excited for you, and so glad you're enjoying the job. I can't imagine anyone better suited for the job than you!

I'm so glad you're liking the new job! Enjoying it and feeling good about it is *huge* in the whole 'job' world. (Hopefully) I'll see you at TXSCC next weekend - have a great week!

Oh yeah your feet will hurt from working the floor! If you find the right shoes though they will adjust, but you might have to accept some shoes just weren't made for that kind of job.
