More Like A Pant Than A Legging

*Plus size readers, reader (and mega-hotness) JRo left a comment yesterday about Forever XXI’s denim leggings from their plus size line called Faith, and she loves them!*

After wearing these yesterday, I think they are more of a pant. Now the OTHER pair, the $20 pair, those were skin tight and very much a “jegging” as the kids are calling it. But these are more of a pant. They are made of a very stretchy, but stiffer fabric and they have a slim fit, but lots of room. In fact, they are almost TOO forgiving for my tastes. (I like it a bit tarty, what can I say?)

See? Very flattering, yes? They hit right about the ankle and on me are maybe even a bit short when I sit down.

What’s interesting to me is that these were the cheaper pair, and yet they are also the more sophisticated pair. Much more of a grown up version of skinny jeans. They have a hidden side zip. That’s way more grown up to me than my standard jegging with the elastic waist.

No pockets, just a clean back.

OK, so you guys know me. You know I am all about handmade and I love jewelry and bags by artists, not giant corporations…but man, do I love these…

August 20

These pictures do not even do them justice. They look like I happened upon them at an estate sale, they are jut stunning. I have a mirror set up in my cube (so I can see you walk up behind me when I am wearing headphones and not get the bejeezus scared out of me, not because I am The World’s Most Vain Girl) and I won’t lie. I stared at them all day yesterday. And I am wearing the gold version today. I planned my outfit around them. Both days.

I’m going to have to replace these soonish. I am not looking forward to it.

I adore these and even though they are just cheap old Payless shoes they have been some of my favorites. And I am going to have a hard time replacing them with anything but another pair. I mean, the color, the buttons, the shape…it’s all perfect. At least I wore them out instead of being afraid to. Do you ever do that? Have something and love it and know you can’t replace it, so you just never use it? Keeping it like new forever? I hate when I do that. I am trying really hard to break that habit.

Those booties and your red ones recently, both Payless, are Steve Madden copies from a year so so ago.

I love them - wish I had known Payless had them! I bought the red suede Madden red booties (practically identical to yours), and drooled excessively over the pair like you are wearing today, but decided to forego buying them too.

Super cute!

And I know exactly what you mean about loving something and wanting to keep it new. I have some Steve Madden knee boots I fell in love with, and I bought myself a second, identical pair when they went 1/2 off so I would have a backup pair for the future. Sick, I know. But I so rarely love my shoes I couldn't help it.

I'll have to check out those leggings. I prefer ones that are not too tight. I'm starting to shop for fall :)

Pants were a great buy, they look custom made.
mmmm... I have stuff I don´t want to wear because I practically want to be buried with them.. usually handbags!

I saw some boots in the same vein at Target the other day... maybe they had buckles instead of buttons? I can't remember, but they were the same shape and color.

I bought my first pair of skinny jeans last week and am trying to talk myself into wearing them... they're more 'grown up' as you say but they still make me nervous.

Love the earrings!

Hey I just saw some new adorable booties going on at target recently, totally your style! They have a pair almost identical to those, only not in grey :(

They also have a grey pair with buckles instead of buttons.

I have to be honest, not only do you have a great taste in clothes but also in jewelery! You are so creative! Reading your blog each day has gotten me inspired to try and make some jewelery of my own!

Hmm, since those seem a little more roomy than the supatightskinny jeans, maybe I will try a pair. They look great on you!

I am the QUEEN of not using something because I don't want to "ruin" it or wear it out. I have shoes I've barely worn, really pretty stationery I keep (just to look at, I guess? How stupid is that?), blank books I don't want to mess up with my writing... ugh. I am trying really hard not to do that because why buy something if you can't even let yourself USE it?! Argh.

Wow, those earrings are great!

The pants are great- they have a very nice, substantial, made of actual fabric look. :P

The cube rear view mirror is a must- I've been snuck up on many times.

I really like those jeans...they have a great polish to them and they fit you really well even though they're not skin tight. They look especially great with those booties!

JRo is totally my fashion inspiration, btw...I love the way she puts stuff together!!

oh, I'm sad for you about your booties. would they be able to be fixed at a cobbler? I've never done so, but have read about ladies taking shoes in to be repaired.....good luck.

ps-love the pants! very flattering.

I adore those boots too! I saw them at Payless and wanted to get them but Payless is not so cheap anymore! I'm such a bargain-shopper these days and I didn't want to pay over $25 for Payless shoes! They should change their name.

Im in love with my jeggings, especially paired with a boyfriend style button up shirt and black closed toe heels. My jeggings are the same ones Paris Hilton was seen sporting. They are made by Niki Biki and just like the Niki Biki camisoles they wont bag out or loose their shape after wearing them all day. To purchase your own visit RepeatPossessions.com.
